Once in a while I get to spend time with one of the great people in the field of sexology. This was one of those rare days, witn Dr. Gina Ogden, fellow sexological pioneer. She came to Los Angeles en route from leading her transformational workshops at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, heading south to her other training center and paradise retreat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and then up again to lead a gathering of aspiring sexologists in Colorado. This was our special lunch in Malibu, standing in front of the inspiration of what we love to call our “Mother Sea” energies and smiling at our connection to each other and the universe.
Although she is a true “elder” in sexology, her spunk, brilliant mind, huge heart, and endless energies keep me going for days after a mere hour together. She and I both approach the healing of sexual concerns and trauma from the medicine wheel perspective. Her work uses a holistic model known as ISIS (the integration of spirituality and sexuality) and mine is MEBES (mind-emotions-body-energy-spirit), which is a whole-person-centered, integrative and integrated model as well. Both of us have the capacity to address the 5 critical aspects of where and how our sexuality can become blocked or stuck or wounded and thenĀ help our clients move through to their healing or wholeness. We both emphasize that the essence of the spiritual dimension may be the missing link to healing sex. To learn more about MEBES, check this out.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Ogden as one of our esteemed Master Faculty at Sex Coach University, where she leads you through an intensive course in her ISIS model, designed to train sex coaches, therapists and other healers in this unique pathway for change. Here is Gina live!!
I am always honored to be in the presence of greatness and I get such a charge for my own inspirations to do so….to learn more about the ISIS approach, go to Gina’s site here. And if you want to meet her, myself and two other amazing colleagues (all of whom will present on 4 holistic models for the healing of sexual issues) we will be speaking for 2 hours at the annual AASECT conference in June.
Hope to see you there! Love, Dr. Patti
