I am on the Board of an amazing organization: Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance.
This year Woodhull is putting together a not-to-miss event in the D.C. area….on the weekend of September 21-23rd: “The 2012 Sexual Freedom Summit”. Sexual Freedom Day has been proclaimed officially for September 23rd each year. I was thrilled to be there last year as its moderator for the opportunity to meet leaders from the United Nations and other groups, to network with advocates and activists for sexual rights, and to hear stellar presentations. Sessions this year will address the need for us to be concerned and take action for the promotion of organizational efforts to preserve the very precious sexual freedoms that we all deserve. Whether it’s about transgender health, or gay marriage, or a woman’s right to determine her own sexual destiny or have access to contraception, or comprehensive and sane sex ed in our nation’s schools, or the right to adult sexual entertainment or the preservation of life for many whose very lives are at risk each and every day because they are “different” from the norm.
I believe strongly that sexual rights are human rights. That is the mission of Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance.
I give my time and money to preserving the possibility for a safe, healthy world when it comes to sexual expression and diversity through the work of Woodhull. So can you.
